Disqualification – dog is DQ’d from participating in an event, handler is not required to leave, but dog must remain safely contained in a kennel and is not allowed to compete, there will be no refund of fees for that dog’s entry. Disqualification at an event may result in suspension from future events.
Dismissal – person is asked to leave an event with no refund of fees. Dismissal at an event may result in suspension from future events.
Suspension – person is not allowed to compete in CDD events for a period of time (e.g. 2 competitions, one season, 3 years, etc.) after which they may apply for reinstatement.
At a Colorado Disc Dogs sanctioned event (including, but not limited to, Competitions, Demos, Training Events, etc), any Executive or Advisory Group member has the right to ask any person, whether they are entered in the event or not, to leave the event grounds, without any expectation of refund of any fees associated with the event (Dismissal).
Such Dismissal can be for any just cause, as determined by the official, such as where the handler and/or dog is behaving in a manner that is against the rules of the Colorado Disc Dogs or the location where the event is taking place, or for other reasons that may cause a safety hazard.
If a dog or handler is disqualified or dismissed, the results for that competition or event will be recorded as a zero, regardless of points earned up to that point.
If a handler is suspended for a number of events, a season, or more, club membership dues are forfeit and not refundable.
The
just causes for which a Dismissal may be issued to a person on the
event grounds include, but are not limited to:
•
Abuse (verbal or physical) towards another person or dog.
•
Unsportsmanlike conduct including, but not limited to: disrespectful
treatment of volunteers,
officials, competitors, a dog, or a
member of the spectating public. Unsportsmanlike conduct anywhere on
the event grounds could result in disciplinary action.
Disciplinary Actions can be taken for disrespectful treatment of officials, volunteers, competitors, hosts, officials, dogs, or members of the spectating public. Situations that may lead to a Disciplinary Action include, but are not limited to:
•
Acting in a manner that could endanger another person or dog,
including not having control
of your dog(s).
•
Dog(s) acting in a manner that could endanger another person or dog.
•
Acting in a manner that could cause the loss of an event site or
hotel including vandalizing property, leaving trash, not cleaning up
after your dog(s), and excessive/sustained vocalization in the
parking and/or crating areas.
•
Not following Colorado Disc Dog rules and guidelines or event rules.
Note on dog aggression:
Any
aggressive act by a dog towards a person or another dog may result in
the offending dog
being dismissed from the event at the
Executive or Advisory Group
member’s
discretion.
Any
physical contact made by the offending dog to another dog or human
will automatically result in disqualification for that dog at that
event, and may result in dismissal from all future events.
