  Lyons, CO - Meadow Park - 10:00am

First off I would like to say "Thank You" for the great turn out we had at Lyons. Once again we broke another record in number of teams. We had over 70 teams....WOW...and we were able to run all the teams twice! That is great!

Congrats to Brent Broadstone and Sir Charles on their first place win! Sir Charles soared like an eagle landing his claws on the first place trophy. Way to go Brent and Sir Charles.

That was followed up by a tie for second between two more great teams which was Marie Earle and Nitro Nanna duking it out against Mark Brisse and Gabby. We had to have a throw off which, yes, you guessed it, ended in another tie. So round two of the tie breaker started Mark and Gabby with a great throw followed by Marie and Nanna and it looked like it was going to be ANOTHER tie when the wind came up and snatched the frisbee and threw it to the ground just out of the mouth of Nanna giving Mark and Gabby the win..Talk about your nail biter.. We had another tie to break for 7th place too. So your scores will show just how close this competition was.

Your 2004 Rookie of The Year was also a close call. Thought we might have two names on the trophy this year with Jane Henderson with Ringo and Matt DiAnno with Maggie. But Matt inched a head and grabbed up the lead. Congrats to you Matt and Maggie. I think Jane and Ringo sure gave you a run for your money....

We had wonderful calm air in the first round but good old Ivan hurricane winds showed up to make the second round a tough one. But, all and all it was a great time! We followed up with the after event Bar BQ party at the lake hosted by Brent Broadstone. Dogs (and kids) knee deep in water with good food and friends. What more could you ask for...

I want to give an additional "Thank you" to those of you who were able to help support the Mary Crest Sewing Circle that was at our event too. As you heard during the announcements this is a non- profit, self supporting group of low income women. 100% of the sale is returned to the seamstress. They sold many items on Sunday and Mary said she and her husband really enjoyed watching the competition. Thanks again for helping to support this group.
